Sorry no post so far today

I wanted to let my loyal followers, and I want you all to know how much appreciate each and every one of you who stops by regularly to see what I’ve done,  that I don’t know when or if I will post my latest project today.I did get started on my next project for today’s post, but I’ve been dealing with some flu strain and haven’t done much else besides sleep and lay in bed.  I am feeling a little better and my fever has come down a little so I’m hoping I can get in my scrap studio this afternoon. So until then I’ll give you a peek at what I’m working on.

I’ll have lots of picture to show you when I’m done.  Until then I hope every one of you has a wonderful and productive day.

Remember that Taco Bell Box?

P1070795

It’s got a new life and tomorrow it will hold some yummy brownies I’m making for my husband to take to work. It’s such a nice size for this or a small pan of cinnamon rolls.  I’ll line the inside with waxed paper and pink tissue paper and who would know it once held Taco Bell.

P1070968I used a couple of sheets from the My Mind’s Eye Love Nest stack and cut out the birds in the nest to pop them up from the design on the paper and added some Prima flowers along with some others I had in my stash.  I added pink rhinestones for the centers.  The ribbon is from Hobby Lobby and is a perfect match to the paper.

I just measured the box and cut my paper to match and it worked out.

The sentiment is made with Alphalicous and was welded with my Gyspy.

P1070969P1070974P1070977P1070978It was a very quick project and turned out great.  Have a great day everyone.

A Banner for my mantel or maybe . . .

I really don’t know where I’m going to put this banner.  I’ll have to experiment with where it looks best.   Isn’t it pretty!

For this banner I used the lips from Indie Art, and the tags came from Winter Frolic.  The font is Mickey and I used the scalloped circle from Mini Monograms.  I also used the heart from Doodlecharms.  The paper was from my stash. The black and off white patterned papers are from Hobby Lobby, the red and white polka dot is Daisy D’s, and the cardstock is mostly Cord’nations.

The largest tag is 4” high.

P1070950

The paper flowers are from Hobby Lobby.  I tried to make them look like little bouquets.

P1070957

I faux stitched all the layers and popped each layer up with dimensionals. P1070958

A Heart and a Cow

I’ve got two cards for you today.   They are both for my husband and are tied to the little gifts I give him.  My husband loves candy—more than me, so some of my little gifts are candy and these two cards will accompany candy he likes.  This first card is going to accompany some Fire Balls.  He loves these.  He will be so happy.

P1070935

That heart comes from Indie Heart and it’s the first image I’ve used from this cartridge.  It seemed the right choice for this card.  It’s a 5x7” card and the paper is from DCWV and the cardstock is a mix of scraps from my scrap drawers. The phrase is cut from Pooh font and the wood feature.  I welded the phrase with my Gypsy.

P1070936

I sprayed the heart with Tattered Angels Glimmer mist Gold, and when I was done I held it in front of my little space heater because I wanted it to dry fast and this caused the strange looking mottling and cracking!  I like it!  It wasn’t my intent but I like it!  P1070941

This next card is sort of silly but I really like how it tuned out and I think Jim will get a laugh out of it.  It sort of just came to me and I made the cut file with my Gypsy.

This card will accompany a box of Milk Duds. P1070944

I know it’s pink but I think it works for the card!  The cow is from Paper Doll Dress Up, and I cut it out 4 times.  I cut it once in pink for the face and udders, once in tan for the horns, once in black and once in white.  I used my little scissors and cut the spots out on the white to give the cow some spots.  I trimmed off the hooves, the tail as well as the very top of the head.  Looks pretty good I think.  The font is Alphalicious and was welded with my Gypsy.  The cartoon bubble is from Smiley Cards and scalloped rectangle is from Mini Monograms and I stretched it one way.  The patterned pattern is from DCWV All Dressed Up Stack.  Cute, huh!

This card is another 5x7 and when I embossed the pink card stock with my Cuttlebug, I had to do it in several passes. It’s easy with the Dotted Swiss folder because it’s so easy to match the pattern.

And that’s it for today.  I’ll be working in my studio putting together some new projects because we are in the middle of a major winter storm complete with freezing rain and massive inches of snow!.  I’m so happy I am be warm and snug in my house.

Hanging on Your Door

Last week while browsing on the Cricut Message boards looking at all the really talented people and their amazing projects, I came across one I just know I had to try.  I came across this amazing little door hanger by Happy Life Crafty Wife, and I put it on my list of to-do projects.

Meanwhile, my granddaughter Abigail came down with the flu and so she was really on my mind.  I decided to make my first door hanger for her.  I think it turn out so sweet!

P1070927

I used George and Basic Shapes to make the door hanger and the box on the front to hold treats, and for Abby’s name, I used Ashlyn’s Alphabet. I used Hello Kitty for the Hello Kitty—of course!  The paper is from that My Mind’s Eye Love Nest stack. The ribbon and trim are from Hobby Lobby and the jewel flowers are from Paper Studio’s Gemstones.  I used my threading water border punch for the pink trim on the front edges.  Nice, huh!

It measures about 5” wide and 9” long and the kitty is cut at 4”.

Now Stacey, if you visit and see this, don’t tell Abby about this little treat holder!  P1070928P1070931P1070932P1070933P1070934

A Little Valentine’s Banner

This little banner is only about 16” long and each piece of the banner is only 3” high and a bout 1 1/2” wide.  I plan on hanging it in my husband’s van during my 14 days of Valentines.  And here’s the thing, every single cut is from one cartridge—Storybook!

P1070914

From the first base layer to the letters on each medallion, every single cut is from Storybook. This is a great old cartridge and it has some great all purpose cuts. The paper is the My Mind’s Eye stack Love Nest and the cardstock is all from DCWV.  Love Nest  is exclusive to Hobby Lobby.  I also used some pink and red hued Petaloos  Flora Doodles as well as some Paper Studio gems from Hobby Lobby.

I made the cut file on my Gypsy and from there this project went together very quickly.

How about some close ups!

I’m pretty sure I won’t get any time in my studio today.  Two of our grandchildren are coming to spend the night. Saturday I’ll have some time with my husband who has worked for the past two Saturdays.  I’m looking forward to the grandchildren and to my hubby time.  Have a great weekend.

Morning, Coffee and U—another valentine

I’ve got 14 Valentines to make for my 14 days of Valentine’s for my hubby, remember! I do and I have to get more than one done every week.  I used the sketch over on Mojo Monday to guide me and let My Pink Stamper provide the subject—something yummy and I had my card.

Here’s the sketch:

mojo125

And here’s my card:

P1070910

I used a sheet of paper from that Ever After pack of Cosmo Cricket for the base of the card and a sheet from My Mind Eye’s Love Nest for the top of the card.  The card stock is all scraps from my scrap drawers.  I love it when I use what I have and see my scrap drawers start to dwindle down to nothing.  It’ll be a while until that happens but I am working on it!

The sun like piece behind the coffee cup cut at 3” and the 3 hearts are from Accent Essentials. The coffee cup is from Christmas Cheer and is cut at almost 2”.  I used the contour and hide feature to hide the steamy swirls  that come out of the cup. Then I cut out the center of the mug so that it would look like coffee in the cup. The font is Printing press and I welded it with my Gypsy.  The lettering is cut at 1” except for the U and it is cut at about 1 1/4”.  P1070911P1070912P1070913

The second half of Acts of Love

I had a very busy day! I spent it with my 2 year old grandson and he is a ball of energy.  I am very tired grandma as I write this for all of you tomorrow.  I had a ball with Chaz and am so grateful to have this little boy in my life.  I wouldn’t trade the day we had today for anything.  He is very special.

So here are the last pages of my Acts of Love tag book.  First I want to back up and take a look at the cover.  After I finished it yesterday, I thought the ring looked awfully bare and added some ribbons and fibers. It did help.

That’s it for this project, but I’ll be back tomorrow with something new and I hope inspiring!
